Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability is a two-headed dragon. “Shareholders vs. Society”, the never-ending battle between profits and the environment. Businesses operate to generate profits, which allows for job stability, employment growth, research and development, and revenue to feed the economy. Shareholders love profits, it gives them comfort to reinvest, supporting exponential growth targets.

CAPEX dollars are coveted, Sales, Marketing, HR, R&D, Advertising, they all want those dollars.

The challenge is to maintain profitability, all while benefitting the environment. Neil Glachman

Mr. Glachman has been an inventor and serial entrepreneur. Mr. Glachman founded (1976) Renal Care Corporation, a consulting company for hemodialysis centers, responsible for all dialysis related technology including Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Systems. Mr. Glachman designed and developed an Extraluminar Doppler Blood Flow Meter, later licensed to Dupont for a hemophoresis machine. After a five year employment history with Johnson & Johnson’s Vistakon Inc., Dow Corning Ophthalmics, and American Hydron Inc., a National Patent Development company, he founded Ocular Insight Inc., a group purchasing organization (GPO) for the optical industry. He later purchased and merged three competitor GPO companies. Mr. Glachman co-founded (1999) Visus LLC, an importer and distributor of branded and proprietary (VISUS) contact lenses., he later purchased and operated a 234 store chain of retail optical stores. Mr. Glachman was the co-founder (2009) of National Ophthalmics Corporation, a sales and service company of ophthalmic equipment. Green Lumens was founded August 2010.
